Installation Guide

Prerequisites

Currently, Sugoi Search is provided as an unofficial Google Chrome extension.

Manual installation is required at this time.

Steps

1. Open the Extensions Management Screen

From Chrome's top-right menu, select "Extensions" → "Manage Extensions"

2. Enable Developer Mode

Turn on "Developer Mode" in the top-right corner of the screen

3. Load Unpacked Extension

Click on "Load unpacked"

Select the dist folder that you've downloaded and extracted

Important Note

Your save data will depend on the location of the specified folder.
Since moving the folder later may cause data loss,
please place it in a location where you won't need to move it in the future.

Why Not Publish Officially?

To Avoid Feature Limitations

Through the official store, features and permissions may be restricted.
Particularly due to changes in Google's review criteria and policies,
features that are acceptable now might be removed or rejected later.

However, this doesn't mean we will never publish to the official store in the future.

Delivering "Raw Value" to Users

Sugoi Search prioritizes maximizing Chrome's capabilities and
providing users with a truly convenient experience.

Therefore, we want to avoid unnecessary restrictions or impacts from specification changes.

Supported Browsers

Sugoi Search works not only with Google Chrome but also with
Chromium-based browsers like Arc and Brave.

This extension is designed to provide value in any Chromium-compatible environment, not limited to specific browsers.

Future Official Store Distribution

In the future, we may consider distribution through the official store to provide more users with peace of mind, but if this would require significant feature reduction, we will not actively pursue this approach.

Security and Reliability

Tools distributed to numerous users come with security responsibilities.
If malicious code were included, it would result in legal liability and litigation risks,
severely damaging the developer's credibility.

Sugoi Search is developed with user safety as the top priority.
